Requesting information, statistics & data
1. Introduction
The European Fire Prevention & Rural Preservation Organization (EFPRP) is committed to providing accurate, timely, and comprehensive data, reports, and statistics in response to requests from stakeholders, researchers, policy-makers, and the general public.
This document outlines the process for responding to such requests, including details about potential delays, the types of data available, and the steps involved in retrieving and sharing information.
2. Response Time for Requests
EFPRP receives a variety of requests for data related to fire prevention efforts, rural preservation, and related activities. While we strive to respond promptly to all inquiries, due to the complexity and volume of requests, there may be delays in providing comprehensive data. Below is the general timeline for responses:
Standard Response Time: Requests for general information, statistics, and data will typically be processed within 5-7 business days.
- Extended Response Time: For more complex requests, including custom reports, cross-regional data, or specific research inquiries, the response time may extend to 10-14 business days or more depending on the availability of resources and data.
Note: If there are delays in processing, we will make every effort to notify the requester as soon as possible and provide an estimated timeline for when the information will be available.
3. Types of Data and Information Available
EFPRP collects and compiles a wide range of data to support its fire prevention initiatives and rural preservation efforts. The following outlines the types of data that can typically be requested:
3.1 Fire Prevention Data
Fire Incident Statistics:
Information on the frequency, causes, and impacts of wildfires and other fire incidents in rural areas.
Fire Risk Assessments:
Regional and national fire risk assessments, including vulnerability analysis for specific landscapes or communities.
Fire Prevention Programs:
Data on ongoing fire prevention initiatives and their effectiveness in various European regions.
Fire Management Training & Capacity Building:
Information on programs designed to train rural communities in fire prevention and response.
3.2 Rural Preservation Data
Land Use and Preservation Statistics:
Data related to rural land use, conservation, and sustainable agricultural practices.
Preservation Programs:
Information on ongoing rural preservation efforts, including afforestation projects, sustainable farming programs, and landscape protection initiatives.
Ecosystem Impact Data:
Studies and reports on the environmental impacts of rural preservation and fire prevention activities.
3.3 Research & Policy Reports
Reports on Fire Prevention:
Research papers, white papers, and policy reports detailing the latest findings on fire prevention strategies and techniques.
Environmental Impact Assessments:
Data on the long-term effects of fire prevention and rural preservation on ecosystems and biodiversity.
4. Process for Requesting Data
To ensure that EFPRP provides accurate and relevant data, all requests must be submitted through the official EFPRP data request process. This includes the following steps:
- Submit a Data Request Form:
- Contact our Support Team and let them know that you are requesting specific data. Our Support Team will send you a form that you will need to fill in less than 24h. This form will require details such as the type of data requested, the intended use of the data, and the timeframe in which the data is needed.
Be as specific as possible when detailing your request to help us fulfill it accurately and efficiently.
- Acknowledgement of Request:
- Upon submission of your request, we will send an acknowledgement email confirming receipt of the request and providing an estimated timeline for the release of data.
- Processing the Request:
- We will review the request, consult with relevant departments or regional teams, and compile the necessary information.
- In case additional data gathering or analysis is required, there may be additional time needed. EFPRP will notify you of any changes to the expected timeline.
- Delivery of Data:
Once the requested data has been compiled, we will send the information in the requested format (e.g., PDF, Excel, CSV...).
If the request involves sensitive or proprietary information, certain data may be redacted or provided in summary format to protect privacy and comply with data protection laws.
5. Delays in Response
We strive to respond to all data requests as quickly as possible; however, delays may occasionally occur due to the following reasons:
Volume of Requests:
High demand for data can lead to longer processing times. This is particularly true during peak seasons or after major fire events.
Data Availability:
Certain data may need to be obtained from regional or national fire agencies, government bodies, or partner organizations. This can cause delays if external partners are involved in data sharing.
Data Verification:
In some cases, we may need to validate or update data before it can be shared. This is particularly important for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of fire statistics and impact assessments.
Data Customization:
If the request requires specific, customized data sets or reports, additional time may be required to prepare and format the data accordingly.
5.1 How We Handle Delays
If a request is delayed, EFPRP will:
- Provide a notification of delay along with a revised estimate of when the data will be available.
- We may offer any available preliminary data that may be useful in the interim.
- Make every effort to prioritize urgent requests when appropriate.
Our current response time for a form request is 24h (Check "last update" on the footer of the page to verify the last update of this timeline).
6. Data Access Policies
EFPRP adheres to strict data protection and privacy policies in line with European Union regulations. All data shared by EFPRP is subject to the following conditions:
- Attribution: When using EFPRP data in reports, publications, or other public-facing documents, proper attribution must be given to EFPRP as the source of the data.
- Use of Data: Data provided by EFPRP must be used in accordance with the purposes specified in the request. Any use of data for purposes not originally stated may require additional approval.
